SURREALISM Project inspired by Salvador Dali

Surrealism Surrealism is a cultural movement that began in the early 1920s, and is best known for its visual artworks and writings. The aim was to "resolve the previously contradictory conditions of dream and reality." Artists painted unnerving, illogical scenes with photographic precision, created strange creatures from everyday objects and developed painting techniques that allowed the unconscious to express itself and/or an idea/concept.cultural movement Surrealist works feature the element of surprise, unexpected juxtapositions and non sequitur; however, many Surrealist artists and writers regard their work as an expression of the philosophical movement first and foremost, with the works being an artifact.

Salvador Dali Salvador Dali, the most eccentric and imaginative figure in Spanish painting, explored Cubism as well as Futurism and Metaphysical Painting, before finally turning to Surrealism. These are characterized by meticulous attention to detail, virtuoso technique, and highly creative content, along with symbolic Freudian dream imagery. He himself referred to them as "hand-painted dream photographs."

For this project… Our next challenge is to create a scene that is inspired by surrealism. Something that is NOT realistic. It's irrational. -Choose a place/ thing/ concept you want to start with. This can be the dessert- a car show- a soccer game- an elephant- time- space- ghosts- love. -Make sure you have at least 10 separate layers (parts) (Pictures). -Blend your at least 10 different image layers together in a way so it is not obvious you are using different source images.
