2. Fast Write
Fast Write: You have 3 minutes to write anything you know about the scientific method.
MRI strategy:
They have 3 minutes on their own to write anything they know about the scientific method.
Encourage them to keep writing ( DO NOT STOP). Repeat yourself if you have to.
Once 3 minutes is up give them 1 min each to share what they already know about the scientific method with their shoulder partner.
Bring the class back together and discuss as a class things they already know about the scientfic method.

3. Directions – See your paper
1. Partner Parrot Read
Partner A read the first paragraph as Partner B follows along.
Without looking at your article Partner B gives Partner A an overview of what was read.
Then Switch roles on the next paragraph.
2. Rally – Coach. Do questions 1-8 Highlight were you found the answer for each question and write the number of the question. (See Example in Article: Q #1)
3. Rally- Coach. Find the 6 steps of the scientific method. Underline and Number each step. See Example in Article
4. Make a Flow Chart showing the steps to the scientific method. See below for an example. (You will find 6 steps)
Open a word document
Click Insert
Click on Smart Art
Click on Processes
Choose a flow chart that you and your partner agree with.
Click on Text Pane and type your 6 steps here.
When you are finished check with your teacher.

How to find the answer to the question in the article. Then Highlight and number.
How to underline and number with a cirlce the steps of the scientific method.

5. Text Pane This is were you will type your 6 scientific method steps.
Making A Flow Chart: Must have 6 steps before you get a computer!
1. Open a word document
2. Click Insert
3. Click on Smart Art
4. Click on Processes
5. Choose a flow chart that you and your partner agree with.
6. Click on Text Pane and type your 6 steps here.
7. When you are finished check with your teacher.
8. Print two copies to Media Center (Colored Printer)
9. IF YOU DO NOT FINISH SAVE TO THE DESKTOP AND LOOK AT THE NUMBER ON THE COMPUTER!
