8 Progress 66 PHC facilities assessed and ready for ART 2010/11 Nurses trained on ART initiation = 24 Total patients initiated on ARV since 1 April : 32 32 retired nurses applied to assist with HR capacity 8

9 Progress (Cont’d) Province will receive additional condoms (106 million – 3.8 m for campaign) Orientation conducted for new guidelines - HCT - ART Depot ready to provide required drugs and supplies (HCT commodities & ART) 9

10 Challenges Acceleration of recruitment process. On-site clinician support & mentoring for trained nurses. Issuing of authorization letters for Prof Nurses to prescribe and dispense (HOD). 10
