Get ready for the BAppSocSci degree A Bachelor’s degree has as the primary purpose of providing a well-rounded, broad education that equips graduates with the knowledge base, theory and methodology of disciplines, and enables them to demonstrate initiative and responsibility in an academic or professional context. Principles and theory are emphasised as a basis for entry into the labour market, professional training, postgraduate studies, or professional practice in a wide range of careers. (HEQF 2007: 23).

Get ready for the BAppSocSci degree A Bachelor’s degree meets the minimum entry requirements for admission to an Honours Degree in a cognate discipline or Postgraduate Diploma programme. Graduates of the BAppSocSci programme are able to pursue a number of postgraduate study options. The degree is built around specific core competencies and key learning outcomes for which the institution is accountable.

1.Formative and summative assessments including examinations; 2.Strict grading of assessments; 3.Academic writing skills – APA guidelines; constructing an academic paper; careful attention to plagiarism; research ability; reading and writing skills and accuracy; use of Ebscohost, Jstor resources; 4.Use the library in order to be able to cite a variety of academic sources; 5. Raw grades versus moderated grades.
