Background of the Initiative
Intense LWE activities. Lowest HDI in the State. 90% population, mainly Tribal, dependent on Agriculture and Forest. Absence of any industry. Lack of opportunity and exposure. Without opportunity for employment, the tribal would have taken the path or forced to join Naxalism which is prevalent in the district and around the district.

Priorities and Purpose
To provide industry specific and qualitative vocational training to rural, marginalised youth, especially children belonging to the family of LWE ultras, violence affected families. To impart knowledge, Skills and Attitude, which makes them confident, gives them a new social identity within family, village and community. Improve the image of administration and garner public support, in a district which is battling LWE insurgency for last 35 years.

Career Guidance & Counseling Centre (CGCC)
Objectives : To assess, counsel and provide career guidance to students to enable them to make proper career decisions To increase engagement with students and hence increase mobilization To strengthen relationships with local industries to increase candidate registrations and accordingly provide manpower to these industries To provide effective placement service to candidates and industries and track students post-placement Process : Mobilization & Orientation Assessment Counseling Training Placement/ Post placement migration support

VOCATIONAL SKILL TRAINING PROGRAM
As per MOU minimum 80% placement and with bio-metric attendance of students has been made mandatory. Six month retention of the recruit made mandatory. PAYMENT TERMS 40% at beginning 20% at end of training 25% first job placement. 15% after six month retention. Additional Skills Soft skills ( communication, inter-personel skills, dressing). Basic English speaking. Customer relationship. Computer ( , webpage etc.) General Health and safety precautions.

IMPACT This program has helped in building citizen’s confidence in administration and improved governments image in a tribal and extremist hit district of Gadchiroli. The thousand plus tribal youth employed are now motivating other villagers who were earlier reluctant to move out of the house. Long term social impact …..reduced LWE activity. Peaceful Elections (no casualty and no repoll) in 2014 vis a vis Election 2009, when we had 58 casualties and 22 repoll THANK YOU
