Labor Day is a holiday that honors all workers. It also signifies the end of summer. The holiday is celebrated on the first Monday in September in the United States and Canada. Workers of all kinds enjoy the day off. It is a time for them to celebrate all that their work has made possible.

Child labor Children's rights are human rights that apply especially to children. There are certain things that all humans need, such as shelter and food. Having access to these things is seen as a right that applies to all humans—adults as well as children. But children have additional needs, including love, protection, and support as they grow and learn. In 1989 the United Nations (UN) agreed to a list of children's rights, in recognition of those extra needs. Most governments of the world have promised to respect this list of children's rights.
