8 Strategies Eat breakfast Get a good night’s rest Read the chapter and complete the homework before coming to class. Get together with others to discuss and clarify concepts. Use frequent short intervals to study new material.

9 Communication Make sure you have an activated e-mail account. Know how to find assignments and course information on my web site. Visit me during office hours if you have any questions. Know how to find the tutoring center

10 Your Responsibilities Attend and be prepared for class. Class should be the second or third time you have encountered the material. Study, study, study for tests and quizzes. Ask questions if something isn’t clear. If you need any special accommodations, talk to me now, so we can make the necessary arrangements.

11 My responsibilities Grade assignments in a timely manner. Provide supplements to lecture:  Mastering Biology assignments and quizzes  Georgia View – will include assignments, copies of lectures, and suggested web sites.  Relevant reading material from science news. Be available for help outside class.  Office hours, review sessions, e-mail, appointments.

12 Grading Three tests (75 pts each)= 225 Class assignments=150 Final Exam (comprehensive)=125 Total =500
