11/14/06 STD’s: What you don’t know CAN hurt you Human Papilomma Virus (HPV) 100 types of HPV; 30 affect the genital area CDC ~ 20 million people have HPV 2000 9.2 million were15-24 yrs. Old 6 million cases yearly 74% of them 15-24 yr. old

11/14/06 STD’s: What you don’t know CAN hurt you Gonorrhea: Causes Gonococcal bacteria Spreads through penis, vagina, mouth or anus (skin or mucous membranes) during oral, vaginal or anal sex Can be spread from mother to baby at delivery

After you found out, did you seek treatment and/or counseling for your STD? Interview a person with an STD outside of class after the presentation. You may ask: Purpose: Students gain insight on living with an STD Goal: They get tested and use STD prevention methods
