Surrealism- ( French: surrealisme)a modern art trend of twentieth century, a source of which is a sphere of sub consciousness (instincts, dreams, hallucinations) and its method is a rapture of substituted subject associations.

Dadaism- (French: dadaisme, “dada”- a wood horse, child’s babble) a modern art trend in 1916-1922, which was formed in Switzerland among anarchic intelligentsia. Dadaism protested against the First World War and depicted it with the help of irrationalism, pessimistic antiestetism, peculiar artistic hooliganism- absurd combination of letters and sounds, astrakhans, pseudo drawings, a set of occasional things.

Salvador Dali Date of birth: May 11 1904 Place: Figerace, Spain Family: father- a notary, atheist; mother- catholic. Education: Art Academy, Madrid, but he was expelled because of his bad behavior. Wife and muse: Gala Eluar, ex-wife of surrealist Paul Eluar. Date of Death: January 23 1989.

Max Ernst Date of Birth: April, 2 1891 Family: Max was the second child from six children; father: Philip Ernst, a teacher at deaf school. Education: Faculty of Philosophy, Bonn University. Wives: Ernst had 3 wives, but only his last wife supported him in his work. Date of death: April, 1 1976.
