5 Foundation Module 2 – Map Management Suite About the Map Management Suite – The Map Management Suite (MMS) allows Local Health Communities to manage their view of the Map of Medicine – It enables Local Health Communities to: – Localise their view of the Map of Medicine to reflect their services and clinical information – Publish releases containing updated content and the latest clinical knowledge – All content created and edited in MMS is visible only in MMS – until such time as it published out to Map Display (aka the Map of Medicine) – MMS consists of two components: Map Manager and Map Editor – Pages are managed in Map Manager – Their contents are edited in Map Editor

Foundation Module 2 – Map Management Suite Map Manager – Map Manager is an web-based tool, available via the internet, that arranges content in a hierarchy of departments, specialties, care maps and pages – Map Manager manages the workflow of editing, review, approval and publication – Reviewers, Editors, Approvers and Publishers all have access to Map Manager – The actions available to a user within Map Manager depend on: – their role – the workflow status of the page or care map – Tip – use the built-in links to navigate around Map Manager: try to avoid using your browser’s Back/Forward/Refresh buttons

Foundation Module 2 – Map Management Suite Map Editor – Map Editor is the desktop application used to edit the visual layout and information behind the pages of the care maps in the Map of Medicine – Nodes, connectors and Quick info are all edited in Map Editor – Map Editor is installed to each editor’s computer and needs an open, active internet connection, as it interfaces with Map Manager, which is an online application – Map Editor is launched from within Map Manager, so no separate login is required – Only Editors, Approvers and Publishers are able to access Map Editor and make changes to care maps

Foundation Module 2 – Map Management Suite Accessing MMS – Hosted on the internet by Map of Medicine – Two versions: – Training at http://training-mms.mapofmedicine.comhttp://training-mms.mapofmedicine.com – Live at http://localise.mapofmedicine.comhttp://localise.mapofmedicine.com – Usernames (can be assigned roles and views) and passwords are required – PCs will require technical configuration before MMS can be used, particularly to install the Map Editor software

Foundation Module 2 – Map Management Suite Info messages – Map Manager displays important messages about the release you are viewing in an orange bar across the top of the screen – Examples include: – You are not in your home view – The expected release date has passed – Your release has received updates from its parent view – Your release is synchronising with its parent view and is locked whilst this takes place – Your publisher has requested publication of your release and it is locked until publication takes place – Your publisher can cancel the request to allow you to make further edits

Foundation Module 2 – Map Management Suite Workflow report tab – The Workflow report tab shows you a filtered set of your pages – The results are grouped by department and, for each page, this tab gives you quick access to a limited number of common actions – Clicking on a page name will take you to the Navigator tab, and straight to the care map of interest – You can print, or export a spreadsheet, of the report, to help in managing your care maps

Foundation Module 2 – Map Management Suite Search results tab – To activate and open the Search results tab, search on a term using the search box available on any tab – The results will show all page names and all page content (i.e. node names and node text) that match your search – Click on a next to a result to expand it and see a preview of the text that matches your search – Just like the Workflow report tab: – the Search results tab gives you quick access to a limited number of common actions – clicking on a page name will take you to the Navigator tab, and straight to the care map of interest – results can be printed
