Cool Facts Velvet Ants are solitary –Males fly around looking for a loner female Females lay an egg in the nest of a bee or wasp host –The larvae hatches before the host, eats it, and uses the nest for itself Few, if any animals can eat the velvet ant Feed on Nectar and Water
