A mnemonic device is any learning technique that aids information retention. The word derives from an Ancient Greek word meaning "of memory.”

Verbal: Definition, context clues, play on words Sounds: Rhyme, alliteration, or similar Visual: Spelling (correct/unique) and/or drawing Acronym: First letters spell word If there are two words, one of the two must be addressed.
