Collaboration and Cooperation GBC and SABCOHA share membership, and the aim is to have a high level of collaboration and cooperation between both organizations especially as it relates to the 2010 World Cup Countdown- 223 days to the 2010 World Cup

SABCOHA World Cup Opportunity Situation Analysis Presently conducting a situational analysis on what social marketing opportunities the World Cup could present to the Business sector, through events both mainstream and on the periphery before, during and after. The main task is a scoping of the World Cup, its provisions and prohibitions and opportunities, and how SABCOHA and its members could fit in. What are we doing? Some interesting lead in opportunities in communities: 1.President Zuma to issue a Call to Action to the nation on WAD around testing. 2.SA National Week from Human Rights Day to World TB Day 21-24 March 2010 3.Looking to test 20 million South Africans by 2010. (How can SABCOHA initiatives be positioned within this? 4.Explore if testing can be done at fan parks (not sure if alcohol served on site if testing can occur) 5.Branding support from SANAC re crafting the messages for HIV. Broader messaging is about testing, knowing status and changing behavior FIFA and SANAC approved messaging 6. Basket of HIV Services that can be rendered in Fan Parks: IEC, condom distribution, etc Updates Countdown- 223 days to the 2010 World Cup South African National Aids Commission (SANAC) SANAC is the coordinating body for HIV activities around WC2010, lead sector will be the Sports Sector

Key Areas of Opportunity for Interventions: Concrete activities: to be outlined by SABCOHA Advocacy Building partnerships Community involvement at theme parks- Reach out to communities within a 15-20 kilometre radius in each host city Fan parks- train service staff on basic methodology of HIV prevention. Cleaners, security guards Distributing IEC HIV and TB information Partners- messaging Condom distribution with instructions Sheebeens and Pubs- non FIFA sites Any specific areas/entry points for engagement for GBC members? Approach Match to make one of their criteria condoms in the room SUN International has Football Fridays, their staff wear sports T-shirts on Fridays- Use as entry point for sensitization around HIV HIV Testing Transport routes communicators How to work with transport routes, e.g. BRT and taxis in each province Create a BTL signature product Any specific areas/entry points for engagement for GBC members?
