Eve Deceiver: Satan Not to eat of one tree (Genesis 2:17) Both sinned (Genesis 3:6) Terrible consequences (Genesis 3:14-19) Always punishes (Leviticus 10:1-3; 2 Chronicles 13:7-10)

A Prophet Deceiver: Old prophet (1 Kings 13:1-24) Character of the prophet (vv. 1-10) Susceptible to believing a lie (v. 18) Killed for disobedience (vv. 9, 17, 24)

Sincerity Alone Saved by sincerity alone Accepted in other areas like government, medicine, banking, etc. Will not save (Jeremiah 10:23; John 17:17; Galatians 1:6-9) Wasn’t the prophet sincere?

Conclusion Satan is the source of all lies (John 8:44) Have you believed a lie? Why not obey now?
