2. Balance – Layout divides the image in to equal halves, thirds or quarters

3. Blank Space- empty areas make the dominant image stand out more

4. Viewpoint - Seeing from an unusual angle to catch attention

5. Colour– bright colour attracts the eye to the part that has colour

6. Allusion - part of the image is based on well-known person or story

7. Framing and Logo - framing parts of the image attracts the eye, and a logo will give quick and instant recognition of the organisation/company

9. Font, Dominant Feature and Caption - the letter shapes suggest ideas and create mood. The dominant feature is the part that is most obvious. A caption is used to help in understanding the image.
