Energy has always been important in human live. Initially, we took it from the environment, but now we have to look for other sources. Now, renewable energy is still more and more famous. There more and more power plants which are improved and maybe one day they will supply enough electricity.

Not renewable energy sources are: -coal -brown coal -crude oil -natural gas Renewable energy sources are: -wind energy -sun energy -geothermal energy -water energy -biomass

Hydropowers: They are industrial plants which changes water energy into electric energy. First water power stations where mill they were used in ancient times. Unfortunately, building this powers stations need big investments and work which damage the environment. Power station are divded into tidal, flow, pumped and tank.

Flow power stations: This power stations can work all the time almost without breaks. They are plants with low tilt. They use water natural energy. The cost of building such power stations is high. This power station is in Czorsztyn- Niedzica.

Pump power stations. This power stations are between two water tanks: top and bottom. The water from the top tank flows down with pipes and it generates electricity.

Solina:

Steel pipelines bring water into pumping turbines in the power station.

Geothermal energy Geothermal energy is the heat inside the rocks and waters filling them. It may be used for recreation, drying wood, heating greenhouses, fish farming etc. Poland has big sources of thermal waters, but the level of use is low. The temperature of those waters in our country is over 80C, so they are used in thermal energy.

Water energy in Poland is only 2,7% of the whole electrical energy.
