3 Title 5 Requirements - Policies Title 5,§53002 requires the Board to adopt a policy statement “setting forth the district’s commitment to an equal employment opportunity program” Policy 1400: The Board of Trustees of San Joaquin Delta Community College declares and reaffirms a policy of equal employment opportunity, equal educational opportunity, and affirmative action in the provision of educational and other services to the public. BP 3410: The Board of Trustees of San Joaquin Delta Community College is committed to equal opportunity in education programs, employment, and all access to institutional programs an activities.

4 Title 5 Requirements – Recruitment & Selection Develop a district EEO plan  Requirements for district plan are tied to availability data, waiting for Chancellor’s office to provide guidance. Establish an Equal Employment Opportunity Advisory Committee Review and Action by Human Resources at each step in the process:  Recruitment strategies  Job descriptions  Screening criteria

5 District Recruitment & Selection Process Recently revised AP7120, modeled after requirements of Title 5 Recently implemented NeoGov, better reporting HR involvement:  Work with hiring managers develop recruitment plan  Sufficient pool of candidates? Diverse pool?  Screening criteria  Continuous improvement (Strategic Goal 5)
