Objectives Content Students will be able to identify common and proper nouns. Language Students will be able to use common nouns and proper nouns in a sentence.

Common Nouns A word that names ANY person, place, or thing.
Rule: We do not capitalize common nouns - unless they are at the beginning of the sentence.

Proper Nouns Proper nouns are words that name a PARTICULAR person, place, thing, event, or idea. Rule: We always capitalize proper nouns.
