Do you think that the categories that were presented by Godfrey St Bernard embrace the reality of violence against women in your country? These categories do represent realities in our countries An additional category should be added: institutional violence – Eg. Police brutality

In countries that register information in the context of domestic violence, how is the collection of information on violence against women operationalized? How is information on violence against girls collected? Is violence against children disaggregated by sex? In our counties this information is not operationalized as such (domestic violence) Information on violence against children are collected by some child protection services Within children group information is sex desaggregated.

What kind of research and policy oriented questions rely upon the use of data pertaining to violence against women? All policies should rely on data: national securit, health, social, gender, economic policies, etc. Frequency of incidence (research topic) Research on demographics

What are the key institutional domains (ie. Police, health, courts, shelters) that are connected systematically in seeking to provide answers to such questions? All the ones mentioned, but also the following should be included: NGOs and civil society organizations, Probation services, social services, immigration, academy, international, regional and national institutions

Are the required input data part of the public domain? If not, is it willingly made available by the service that produces it? To whom? No, it is not part of the public domain. It is made available upon request, but there is little demand

In which aspects would you need this data to be of better quality? Collection process should be harmonized Information should be shared throughout the stakeholders Integral collaboration for comprehensive reporting

Identify a public sector department that you consider to be the most appropriate department for the establishment of a Central Registry that would provide information on violence against women. Why? The Statistics Departments because they have the capacity and expertise
