2 MAIDS is one of the first programmes in Southeast Asia to offer multi-disciplinary training in international development. It is designed for postgraduate students, NGO workers, international organisation employees, and junior to mid-level government officials with experience in development work. The international programme is taught in English to students from a range of backgrounds and nationalities. MAIDS offers a comprehensive and flexible preparation for either a career in international development or further studies at the doctorate level. AboutMAIDS About MAIDS

3 The first two trimesters consist of 4 compulsory and 4 elective courses (3 credits each; totaling 24 credits) Compulsory Courses  Development Theory and Practice  Globalization and Development in Asia and the Pacific  Politics of Public Policy  Research Methodology in Development Studies Elective Courses  Communication, Democratization, and Development  Conflict Resolution  Development Project Management  Human Rights and Gender Problems in Asia and the Pacific  Migration as a Development Issue  Selected Topics in Development and Economy  Environmental Politics and Policy  Development Practicum The third trimester is spent on thesis work in the student's area of interest (12 credits). Field Trips: one or two field visits in Thailand and neighboring countries MAIDS is a full-time, 12-month (Oct – Sep) intensive curriculum divided into four-month trimesters. 4 Qualifications  An undergraduate degree, or equivalent qualification, preferably in social sciences.  work or volunteer experience in international development, either with public or private sector NGOs  English language score : IELTS : 6.0/ TOEFL: 550 PBT, 213 CBT/CU -TEP: 550 Application  Application period : between March 1st and May 31st each year (The programme will begin the following October.)  Documents to enclose in your application  Completed application form  Photocopy of bank transfer of non- refundable application fee of 800 Baht, if not paid in cash.  2 photographs  Official transcript from the college or university previously attended  2 letters of recommendation  Curriculum Vitae/Resume  Statement of purpose  One paper/report/article previously written by the applicant  Photocopy of ID card (for Thai applicants) or passport (for non- Thai students)  TOEFL, IELTS or CU-TEP English language test results, if applicable Admission  Admission decision release date: April to mid-June.  notify the programme within two weeks whether you accept or decline our offer of admission.  In late August, students must also pay an advance deposit on the tuition fee for the first semester. Scholarships and financial aid are available for prospective applicants from developing countries. Admission
