2 Definition: Rational Number
A rational number is any number that can be written as a ratio, a fraction where the numerator and denominator are integers. Decimals that terminate or repeat are rational numbers since they can also be written as ratios (fractions)

3 Characteristics The denominator cannot be zero
The fraction is relatively prime (the fraction is simplified where the numerator and denominator have no common factors) Examples:
