2 Our use of externally facing digital learning channels will: provide an opportunity for the University to showcase the quality and breadth of the education it offers; offer learners at all levels across the world the opportunity to experience a taster of Higher Education, as offered by the University; allow learners to easily consume and interact with digital content in multiple formats and use appropriate technologies to enhance learning; serve as an example of the University’s commitment to ‘openness’ and Open Educational Practice; offer additional learning opportunities for students enrolled on degree programmes and courses at the University.

8 Month 1-2: Initial planning meetings with academic team; development of detailed course template, MOOC costing, MOOC approval process (pedagogy group, creative design group, education committee, steering group). Month 2-3: Content production needs agreed; academic team prepares course plans and content in conjunction with digital learning team; Month 2-4: Content production (multimedia, e-learning elements, academic material); rights and permissions clearance for existing / third party content; course construction in platform; Month 4-5: Course delivery preparation; MOOC delivery training; course testing in platform; Month 6: Course delivery: academic team with support from digital learning team; post-course evaluation, content repurposing.
