What we’re known for worldwide
5
KSC’s Mission ♦ NASA Space Launch System (SLS) 5 to 7 flights over the next 20 years ♦ Commercial Crew Program One to two Commercial Providers to ISS ♦ Extended ISS Mission to 2024 ♦ Support commercial space industry Per NASA 2010 Authorization Act Leasing of assets ♦ Launch Services Program Payloads to earth orbit and beyond Artist rendering: SLS launching from KSC’s LC-39B
6
KSC’s Master Plan ♦ KSC Master Plans has been in work since 2010 ♦ The first product was the Future Development Concept (FDC) ♦KSC was first Center to develop an FDC and get approval ♦Provides the basis for the Plan you will see today ♦ This KSC Master Plan provides the tools and analyses to support future decisions regarding development and asset utilization Planning Background Existing Conditions Future Development 6Sensitive but Unclassified
7
Components of the Master Plan 7Sensitive but Unclassified What Planners Want To Know Where We Are Today Where We Are Going Provided in a Web Based format for efficiency and ease of use and updates
8
KSC Master Plan Core Strategies Improve operational, fiscal and environmental sustainability Ensure that the Space Launch System (SLS), Orion, Commercial Crew Program (CCP), International Space Station (ISS), and Launch Services Provider (LSP) activities are fully operational and have fully capable facilities, assets, and resources. Support NASA Mission and Program Divest without Diminishing Divesting of assets without eliminating capability to serve both critical government missions and programs while encouraging the growth of commercial space transportation market needs. Evolution to a Multi-User Spaceport Move from a monolithic NASA program field installation to a Multi-User Spaceport of Federal property Leaner and Greener Improve operational, fiscal and environmental sustainability.
9
KSC Future Land Use Plan 9Sensitive but Unclassified ♦ Not a traditional Master Plan Usually a Capital Improvement Plan ♦ Provides for functional areas and zones of activity Government only Industrial Commercial

Future Spaceport Strategies 12 What will KSC’s Spaceport look like? Shuttle Era 2011- Today 20182030 Scope of assets offered to non-NASA Only program assets with excess Complete existing facilities Available land within excess capacity and rules Capabilities provided by NASA Institutional (city) Launch Operations R&D and Technical Services Spaceport Integration Capabilities provided by non-NASA Launch Manufacturing R&D and Technical Services How will capabilities be provided? NASA contracts only Non-NASA NASA contracts and non-NASA
