6. Nouns Noun- person, place, thing or idea Common nouns- any one of a group of persons, places, things or ideas Proper noun- a particular person, place, thing or idea. Proper nouns are capitalized, common nouns are not (unless they start a sentence or are part of a title)

8. Concrete and Abstract Nouns Concrete nouns- Person, place or thing that can be perceived by one of the senses. Abstract Nouns- names an idea, a feeling, a quality, or a characteristic.
