2  It is what makes us a Republic.  Elected officials cast the vote for the President, not the people.  The candidate who receives the most votes in that state from the popular vote, will get the state’s electoral votes.

3  100 Senators- 2 for each state  435 Rep’s in the House- based on the population of the state.  3 electors from Washington D.C.  538 total electoral votes, need 270 to win.  2 senators+ number of representatives=number of electoral votes.

5  Not a true vote of the people.  Certain states receive more attention than others.  People are confused by it.
