What is a Drug? Can be defined in many ways. Substance used to treat an illness or modify chemical process in the body. A substance which can be addictive that affects the central nervous system. A chemical or substance that can alter the mind of the body but maybe not for medical purposes totally. Important Statistics Teens who drink are 50 times more likely to use cocaine then teens who don’t drink. U.S. Population Of Criminal Offenses

Marijuana Other Names: Pot, Reefer, Grass, Weed, Dope, Ganja, and Mary Jane. Appearance: Very close to dried parsley which contains stems and seeds. Can be smoked in cigarettes and cigars. Primary drug ingredient: THC(delta-9-tetrahydocannibal). Long term use can be addictive.

Tobacco Other Names: Chew, dip, Fags, or Smoke. Appearance: Brown cut up leaves. Methods of Use: Smoked or leaves can be dipped or chewed for the nicotine to be absorbed.
