» Financial Aid Facts ˃Financial Aid is funds provided to students and families to help pay for postsecondary educational expenses ˃Last year (2009-10), there was $154 billion in financial aid awarded to undergraduate students. ˃Cost of attendance includes : (see handout) +Tuition, books and on-campus housing costs +Necessary expenses such as transportation, personal care, not paid to the college ˃All costs combined determines the cost of attendance for the college. Depends on the school.

» What do I need to complete Scholarships? ˃Set aside some time ˃Have a HS transcript with you ˃Be ready to write essays/personal statements ˃Ask your parents for their recent tax return information ˃Have 2-3 recommenders in mind ˃Have patience, but know when the deadline is. Pace yourself.
