The Starting Line… Offering the Position Students Info: –Address –Phone Number –Social Security Number –Email (if applicable)

The First Turn… PAR –Use Student Info. –Title Graduate Teaching Assistant Graduate Research Assistant Graduate Assistant (Admin)

Proper Title… Graduate Teaching Assistant (G.T.A) –Employee spends 50% or more of their work time in teaching and instruction activities. This employee may also work as a lab instructor or assist faculty in the art and music studio. Graduate Research Assistant (G.R.A) –Employee spends 50% or more of their work time in activities related to discovery of new knowledge or assisting faculty on their research. Graduate Assistant (G.A.) –Employee spends their work time providing office support.

Schedule NEO… Schedule the G.A. for New Employee Orientation. What to bring: –Two Forms of I.D. Call HR for list –Voided Check Fax a copy of PAR to HR Notify G.A. to Accept Assistantship

The Pit Stop… Attends NEO –New Hire Paperwork –Schedules EEO Training –Work Authorization Permit (WAP) HR faxes, emails, or sends a copy of WAP to Department

Final Stretch… For the G.A. to begin work –Dept. received WAP within Days. –Scheduled EEO training within Days. 3 30

Finish Line!!! Federal and University Compliance. Grad School received all paperwork. G.A. will be paid on time! Thank You.
