12 Contracts 101 A contract is required any time a student group enters into an agreement with an individual or company to perform a service, whether or not money is exchanged for that service. The University Contract is always preferred. To protect students from liability, all contracts processed through Student Union must first be reviewed and then signed by a SIL staff member. Vendors signs first. Students may not pay for serves out of pocket. A W9 form must be completed by vendor and submitted with contract. Simple University Contracts that are correctly filled out can be turned in to be signed without an Advisor of the Day meeting. You can always meet with an Advisor to discuss a contract. Contracts must be brought to an Advisor at least 15 days before the event.
