June 2013 LCCU Meeting Backup Types File & folder backup: Available in Windows XP Pro, and in all versions of Vista, 7 & 8, can be installed from system discs for XP Home. System Image: Available in Window XP Pro, called “Automatic System Recovery Backup”, in Vista Business, Enterprise & Ultimate, called “Complete PC Backup”, and in all versions of Windows 7 as “System Image”. In Win 8 it’s available under “Windows 7 file recovery”.Windows 7 file recovery File History: In Windows 8, saves files in libraries, desktop, contacts & favorites, backing up changes frequently (e.g. hourly).

June 2013 LCCU Meeting Browser Toolbars, Disabling To disable the Toolbar in Internet Explorer: –Go to your Tools menu and select Internet Options. –Within the Programs, click on the Manage Add- Ons. –Select the Toolbar and then click Disable. If you want to disable the Toolbar in FireFox: –Go to your Tools menu and Select Add-Ons. –Select and highlight the Toolbar. –Click the Disable button.

June 2013 LCCU Meeting Browser Toolbars, Uninstalling If you have the Windows 7 or Vista operating system: –Go to the Start Menu and select Control Panel. –Under Programs or Programs and Features click on Uninstall a program. –Select the Toolbar, then select Uninstall/Change and then, when prompted, click Yes or Uninstall. If you have the Windows XP operating system: –Go to the Start Menu and select Control Panel. –Click the Add or Remove Programs icon. –Select the Toolbar, then click on the Remove or Change/Remove.

June 2013 LCCU Meeting Browser Homepage, Changing In Internet Explorer –Navigate to the desired home page(s) –select "Tools", "Internet Options”, "General" tab. –Under Homepage, click “Use current” button. In Firefox: –Navigate to the new desired home page(s). –Select Options, Options, General tab. –Click “Use current pages” button.

In Firefox: –Click icon to left of search engine name and select “Manage Search Engines”. –Select search engine & click Remove button.
