Definition of Green Energy Renewable energy is generally defined as energy that comes from resources which are naturally restocks on a human timescale such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, waves and geo thermal heat. Renewable energy — wind, solar, geothermal, hydroelectric and biomass provides substantial benefits for our climate, our health, and our economy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renewable_energy

Facts of Hydro Power Hydropower uses the energy of moving water for a variety of useful applications. Hydroelectricity generates electricity by harnessing the gravitational force of falling water. In 2006, hydroelectricity supplied around 20% of the world’s electricity. Most hydroelectric power stations use water held in dams to drive turbines and generators which turn mechanical energy into electrical energy.
4
How is Hydro Power Collected? The hydroelectric power plant uses a dam on a river to store water in a reservoir. Water released from the reservoir flows through a turbine, spinning it, which in turn activates a generator to produce electricity.
