3  The NCOIC’s main purpose is to help accelerate the implementation of NCO/NEC capability –One method: provide systems engineers with knowledge of existing products that may serve as candidate components for specific solutions Self-Verification & Submission assists customers in obtaining interoperable solutions © Copyright 2008 NCOIC - All Rights Reserved Self-Verification & Submission  Candidate Building Block submissions include both Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and Government Off the Shelf (GOTS) components / systems –Submissions may be offered by NCOIC member companies, government agencies, and non-members –Candidate submissions are accepted if “Building Code” NIF™v2 Pattern definitions exist at time of submission or are planned to be developed by NCOIC at a future date

4 NCOIC Certification  NCOIC’s Building Blocks certification program –NCOIC NIF™v2 compliant “Building Code” Patterns will include Product Verification Test Requirements –Candidate product verification testing performed by companies / entities who submit candidate products for Certification –Subsequent to the completion of the product verification testing, the test results will be evaluated –If successful, a license to use the NCOIC logo for a “NCOIC Certified Interoperable Building Block”, will be granted –Third party administrative support for the NCOIC’s Certification Program will be provided by The Open Group assists customers in obtaining interoperable solutions © Copyright 2008 NCOIC - All Rights Reserved NCOIC Certification
