Why CAWS Re-architect the Aviation Digital Data Service’s (ADDS) web site Become an FAA Certified Qualified Internet Communication Provider (QICP) Volume 3 chapter 7 section 3 paragraph 1441 of the Air Transportation Operations Inspector’s Handbook, Order 8400.10 states that if a Part 121 or 135 Operator obtains aviation weather or notices to airmen (NOTAM) data via the Public Internet, the operator must use an approved FAA Qualified Internet Communication Provider (QICP). Provide increased scalability for current and future CAWS web services Provide fault tolerance utilizing geographically separate service locations Provide savings for the NWS/NCEP/AWC by consolidating some functions
