WORK IMPACT Now people in Maluku (the communities we assisted) understand and realize that it is very important to live in a peaceful environment Those who participated in our workshops and discussions now understand how to deal with --or to solve-- problems in non provocative and non violence ways Now we have network in whole world (whose representatives participated in our workshop and discussions
13
CHALLENGES A continuous and smooth communication is very important, and must always be maintained. Very limited income of the people in the communities/villages, where most people are jobless There are still sources of conflict among others, such as land borders, and addiction to alcohol There are still trauma, prejudice in each other
14
OUR WEAKNESSES It was not easy to get people who are willing to commit themselves to work for peace It was not easy to making mutual understanding after conflict between Moslem and Christian
15
ACHIEVEMENTS The people in the communities/villages are eager to live in peace The people in the communities/villages are willing to be agents of peace In general, the people of Ambon and another country like to help others, although sometimes it was hard to encourage them to work together with each other We have spirit, idea, commitment to be a peace maker wherever we are because We Are We Word
16
PLAN FOR THE FUTURE 1. 1. Sustainable/continuous village/group/community discussions 2. 2. To make the communities work together in social events like cultural shows (peace through culture), in other voluntary social works 3. 3. To continue the Conflict Management Workshops
17
We realized that there are many young people we haven’t touched, many youth in trauma and resiliency need to be rescued and many effort need to put forward to prevent and to create an immune community to future conflict.
18
Therefore, we need support from all party to continue this mission. YAP in the whole world will live everyday to... Think Peace... Talk peace... and Live Peace... Because YOU ARE YOU WORD
19
OUR GRATITUDE Most of what we have done was because of the help from the Uniting Church. So on this opportunity I, represent all YAP members would like to present our very high gratitude for the Uniting Church and its congregations for your effort to also make us being able to help our people how to live in peace and keep it like that generation to generation. We are nothing, we are unable, we cannot afford to repay what you all have done to us, but believe that we always pray for the Uniting Church, for its congregations and all your efforts, and for all of you who are willing to share from what you have, with us and with those who need help, that the Almighty God will bless you all in your work, your life, and your family!
