34 Transportation There is not much public transportation in the Southwest. Most people drive cars. Houston Arizona

35 Public transportation Dallas has buses. Dallas added a train in 1996. It is 85 miles (136.8 kilometers). Houston has buses. Houston added a train in 2004. The train is only 8 miles (13 kilometers).

36 Unions The Southwest states have few union members. Only New Mexico has more unions. Red states have few unions, blue states have many unions.

37 Election 2012 New Mexico and Nevada voted for Obama (blue). Texas, Oklahoma, and Arizona voted for Mr. Romney (red)
