The Ford Company Est. June 16, 1903 Founded by Henry Ford “so easy that a 15 year can handle it.” Survived the great Depression Owns Lincoln and Mercury Discontinued Mercury vehicles in 2010 Henry Ford

- First Ford car – The Ford Model A (1903) - The Ford Model A – 1,750 manufactured the first year - “It had a hard top, but the 1935 model was a one variant of the Model A [it was more developed compared to the 1903 model].” Ford Model C 1904

What was it like? Ford Model A – Two seater, can be converted to a four seater Trips to town = Horse Drawn Carriages Towns, cities, and farm weren’t far – near rail roads Travelling became easier and accessible Education and Hospitals

Ford Model T Field Ambulance Henry Ford – Mass Produce cars Travelling was made cheaper and easier Interchangeable parts – Eli Whitney Assembly line Easier to manufacture cars Cars weren’t made individually
