Professional Learning and Ethical Practice The Teacher engages in on going professional learning and uses evidence to continually evaluate his/her practice, particularly the effects of his/her choices and choices and actions on others (learners, families, other professionals, and the community), and adapts practice to meet the needs of each learner. I chose this standard for the assignment because its telling us that what we learn from our own experience we use it to determine how we teach, how we act and what kind of teacher we will become in the future.

Becoming a Teacher to me is a really big deal in my life. I come from a family of a lot of men, and makes it worse is I’m sort of the middle child. My parents where always busy with the oldest running them places, and was always busy with my younger brothers because well they were young boys. You would think being the only girl I would have it great. Which when I went to kindergarten Ms. Kail become my attention. She listened to me, talked to me and actually cared about what was going on. I want to become a teacher for that reason. The reason to be able to give children attention and become their safe place to talk to if they don’t have one at home as to what I did.

I posses amazing teaching treats that I use just in my everyday life. I also believe that teachers should have these kinds of traits also to be a effective teacher. Your dealing with children so you have to have patience, I you don’t your in the wrong field. They are going to test you everyday. Creative, I’m also creating something or dazzling of something that will come in handy we creating lesson plans for your children. Open Minded, just from my Volunteer Work I have heard some conversations that surprised me but I'm having to remember this a new generation and they are exposed to new things. I feel understanding is big one, I have learned to understand or learn to understand everything that has happened and why it has happened. When we teach these children some don’t have moms, dads, or siblings so they might be the way they are for a reason and as teachers we have to understand and find a way to teach to help their needs. Every teacher should have a positive attitude and dedication they go hand in hand. If they see you upset they are upset, if they see you don’t care they will not care. You have to keep positive and keep trying to teach even if its gets hard.

I want to become the kind of teacher I would want my daughter Audrey to have. I want them to be excited every single day to come to school, and them be ready to tell me about their night. I want my children to not be scared of me, be able to tell me what's wrong or if they need help with something. I want to be a interesting teacher, always have hands on activities from them to do, with a colorful room so they never get bored at looking at things. But I also want them to respect me. I wont be a mean teacher, but I will be a teacher with a back bone and not be scared to say no or let them to know they are doing wrong. I want to be that teacher that sticks in the back of these kids minds until they are old and be able to say to reflect back and remember my class. Like I was with a couple of my teachers. I want them to come back and see me in twenty years and show me what they are doing with their lives. That will make me feel like I was such a effective teacher and that I impacted their lives enough to remember me. I will be that kind of teacher.

I want to teach all and every kind of students. That’s what being a teacher is. We will have some that are wonderful and pleasant then we will have some that are wild and think school sucks. I’m up for the challenge and teaching every type of kids to make them learn and grow like they should. Of course we all want good kids, raise hands, sit still, don’t eat crayons, don’t hit. But the reality of it is we will not get those kids all the time. So I don’t care what kids of children I get as long as they learn, and if they have trouble with that I will take extra time after school and help them learn it. I would enjoy the challenge of having some difficult kids in my class it would make me work harder and challenge my mind as well. As to what I need to do to help this certain person.

I would enjoy teaching in a small community for example Clermont, Indiana. I love that town, its so little and most of the kids already know each other because it is so small. As the same for the adults in the town. The school is in the actual town in the middle of the neighbor hood. So if something was to happen it would spread quickly. Clermont is also good about working with people as in doing fund raisers and coming together as town to help one another. That’s what I enjoy about small towns like that because they are always having some type of fund raiser for kids in Elementary school. Along with that I grew up in a small town, and even though my family was more that half the town I enjoyed knowing everybody, and having fish fry's all the time for some type of fund that was going on.

I will contribute to the teaching community by doing my part and making sure children coming up learn everything they need to, to be able to function in this everyday world. I want to be able to wake up everyday knowing I made a difference in these children's lives. Being a teacher comes with sacrifices and if a child needs extra help you don’t send them home and tell them mommy, daddy, grandpa will help you cause most of the time they wont. I would take the time after school and work with them, and continue to do it until they understand what is being taught. Its our jobs as teachers to make sure no child is scared to as for help or raise their hand to answer a question. I will be that teacher is involved with everything I can, doing fund raisers, being a coach, being tutor anything these children need or their parents need I will do to the best of my ability. Were shaping their children's minds, do it the right way because one day they will be running this country, and even maybe one day they will be teachers.
