3 Your 4-Year Plan is a living plan that can and most likely will change as you change! For now: visualize all the classes you need to take for graduation, along with the classes that you would like to fit in over the next four years to develop a plan, keeping in mind that it might change! 4 Set academic goals for yourself. High school presents a challenging landscape. Develop good study habits. If you sense a problem developing, address it early. Plan challenging courses in high school. The types of courses you take are just as important as your GPA. Start thinking about reasons for attending college and begin to research college costs. Explore your interests. Get involved with the wide range of clubs and activities that are offered. Try something new! Consider how your interests in and out of the classroom intersect. Is there a way you might be able to pursue this further with a summer program?

10 Classroom Policies The following policies will be in effect for all classes. Grading Students will EARN their grade by the following weights: Assessments (Tests, Quizzes, etc.): 70% Class work/Homework: 30% Homework Policy Student will receive homework to reinforce what is being taught in the classrooms. Parents can keep up with their students homework and homework assignments by viewing Home Access and teacher WebPages.

11 Hall/Bathroom Passes Each student will be given passes when there is an emergency. Students are expected to use passing time appropriately. Opportunities for Grade Improvement Lunch study tables will be assigned to all students failing a Core class. After school tutoring is also available. See individual teacher schedules for dates and times.

12 Lunch Study Tables Lunch study tables will be assigned to students who require additional tutoring during the school day. Intervention Program Students may be assigned additional support when needed

18  Getting Involved ◦ 85% (400 students) participated in an extra curricular or sporting activity and were successful in the classroom. ◦ 15% (70 students) chose not to participate in any after school activities. 50 % or 35 of 70 students that didn’t get involved, were not successful in the classroom.
