Six Years Later… Heartland Health employee Wellness Connections members measured in 2001 and again in 2007 (same employees) demonstrated significant reduction of health risk factors e.g. stress and exercise. These concepts are promoted in the market and community.

Worker’s Compensation Claims People that have a work related injury also have an average of $10,593.76 in submitted claims. People that do not have a work-related injury had an average of $6,227.57 in submitted claims. Fitness Center users had $0 in worker’s compensation claims submitted in 2007, as in 2006. Of the Wellness members who had a worker’s compensation claim…averaged a total claim of $710. Non-wellness members who had a worker’s compensation claim averaged a total claim of $2,411.

Worker’s Compensation Claims Continued… People who had a worker’s compensation claim with days away AND restricted days ALSO had an average of $18,201 in submitted claims and an absenteeism rate twice that of the average employee. Low Risk Wellness members averaged $243 in worker’s compensation costs per claim… non wellness members averaged over $2,400. Medium risk Wellness members averaged $520, high risk members averaged $900. All well below non- wellness members.
