UNT Technology Transfer Process For Additional details see the UNT Intellectual Property Policy 16.13.1 Intellectual Property Officer determines whether patent, copyright or trademark protection should be pursued for Intellectual Property He notifies the inventor(s) of UNT’s intent The Intellectual Property Advisory Committee (IPAC) reviews the technology for feasibility, patentability and market demand. Makes recommendation to Intellectual Property Officer An Intellectual Property (Invention) Disclosure is submitted to the Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development UNT retains ownership of the technology Or UNT waives rights and the inventor(s) can ask for rights

UNT Technology Transfer Process For Additional details see the UNT Intellectual Property Policy 16.13.1 According to the UNT Intellectual Property Policy (16.13.1) license income to UNT is distributed to Inventors (50%) and UNT (50%) Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development works closely with the inventor(s) to patent, license and market the technology If UNT retains ownership of the technology

Returns self-addressed postcard notification with filing date and number Approves Divides More than one patent

UNT Technology Transfer Process For Additional details see the UNT Intellectual Property Policy 16.13.1 Final Office Action Make requested changes to claims After First Office Action - Request reconsideration - Appeal to Board of Patents Appeals - Start over with new application -Request Continued Examination of new claims of new claims
