FY 2010 Funding Opportunities Research Commercialization Programs R & D Center Attraction Non-profit R&D Center Award State supported university, or other non-profit research organization having a joint use agreement with a state supported university, seeking a competitive R&D center award with a minimum value to Ohio of $5 million Award must come with a research “center” designation by the funder Center must be in one of the targeted OTF technology focus areas Center must have applied research as a part of its mission The source of the center award may be public or private OTF funding must influence the competitive process of the sponsor Center must be new to Ohio, not a renewal or recompetition of an existing Center

FY 2010 Funding Opportunities Research Commercialization Programs R & D Center Attraction Industry R&D Center Private company looking to locate new-to-Ohio R&D center activity in partnership with a state supported university, or other non-profit research organization having a joint use agreement with a state supported university Center must represent a significant company investment to capitalize and operate the facility Center must be in one of the targeted OTF technology focus areas Company must demonstrate that OTF funds would be influential in its location decision An R&D Center Attraction grant may be packaged with other business incentives

FY 2010 Funding Opportunities Cluster-specific Programs: Focused investment in areas of identified strength Promote the growth of the supply chain in defined cluster Funds for projects to overcome technical hurdles and reduce cost of components and systems for near to market opportunities 1:1 cost share While a typical award will be up to $1 million (non-capital), consideration of larger awards will be given for exceptional opportunities Projects that have a need for facilities and equipment located at a state supported university or non-profit having a joint use agreement with a state supported university may request capital funds for that purpose above the $1 million (non-capital) Out-of state companies committing to establish a principal place of business in Ohio may apply
