 There are many threats to your computer system. The computer threats can be mainly transferred through unknown e-mails or accidental internet downloads. These threats can affect your computer in many ways such as; attempt to steal personal data, shutdown your system or even lock you out of it.  The types of threats that can cause these types of problem are:  Viruses  Trojan Horses  Phishing  Viral Web Sites  Spyware, Adware and Advertising  Bluesnarfing  Social Engineering

 The issues with data on your computer system are that once your computer has been attacked by a computer system threat you have no way of knowing whether your passwords of important information has been stolen from your computer. The best thing to do to protect your computer is that :  make sure you first have some sort of reliable anti-virus software installed on your system  Ensure that all of your personal information is locked with secure passwords and usernames to make it difficult to have them stolen  Have back up information devices such as memory sticks, floppy discs or CDs to allow you have information to use in case of emergency.

 These three points above should be able to help you to firstly protect yourself against computer system threats and if your computer is subject to hacking of any sort your passwords and usernames should make it increasingly harder for the viruses to obtain information.  Finally have another source of information for all your data on your computer so that if it has been unsuccessful at protecting itself then you have your information safely stored away.

 Information security means protecting information and information systems from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, perusal, inspection, recording or destruction. Seven points which can make sure your system is secure are:  Protect your personal information. It's valuable.  Know who you're dealing with.  Use security software that updates automatically.  Keep your operating system and Web browser up-to-date, and learn about their security features.  Keep your passwords safe, secure, and strong.  Back up important files.  Learn what to do in an emergency.

 In any case of computer systems being attacked staff should hopefully have been trained in what to do certain situations. However if they are not they should immuuuuuuuediately contact the IT technicians who can deal with the situations appropriately.
