Helps families buy food for good health. Families CAN use SNAP benefits to buy: Food to eat, such as breads, cereals, fruits, veggies, meats, fish, poultry, dairy products & seeds Families CANNOT use SNAP benefits to buy: alcoholic drinks, tobacco, pet foods, soaps, paper products, household supplies, vitamins, medicines, food that will be eaten in the store or hot meals

Doctor & dentists visits Hospitals Medicines ordered by doctors and dentists Health care for: children, women, young adults and families, people age 65+ and people with disabilities

Effective 9/1/2015 individuals with a felony drug conviction after 8/22/1996 will no longer be disqualified from receiving SNAP benefits. A two-year SNAP disqualification penalty for individual convicted of drug-related felony offenses after 8/22/1996, if they violated any condition of parole or community supervision Permanent SNAP disqualification when a individual convicted of a drug-related offense after 8/22/1996 is convicted of a subsequent drug-related felony offense while receiving SNAP

What you need to know? Individuals with a felony drug conviction after 8/22/1996 will be determined eligible for SNAP benefit effective for applications & redeterminations received on or after 9/1/2015 changes disposed on or after 9/1/2015
