American vs. Korean Culture Names: – America: First Name Surname – Korea: Surname First name The classes do not go by their teacher’s name, but by a number. Ex: “4-3” means the student is in the 4 th grade and in the 3 rd class. Students go to class from 8:30 AM to about 10:00 PM, M-F. So some students are good at English, while others are good at a different subjects.

Korean 안녕 = Hi 만나서 반가워. = nice to meet you 나는 미국에서 살아. = I live in America. If your name ends in a constant: 내 이름은 _____ 이야. If your name ends in a vowel: 내이름은 _______ 야.
