JOBS Advantages Make $, No more school Disadvantage Low paying job, not job you want, responsibility right after hs Education HS Diploma, GED (graduation equivalency diploma), None? Pay/Salary $7.25 – 12 / hour = 16,000-24,000 a year

APPRENTICESHIP Advantages -Learn a trade and work with a professional, get paid while learning, high demand jobs (plumbing, welding…) Disadvantage -long hours, real job with responsibilities and you have school too… Education -HS diploma/GED, good attendance at school. Pay/Salary -24+/hour = $48,000/year

MILITARY Advantages Signing bonus, pay for education, $ and good benefits (medical, housing, travel…) HELP OTHERS Disadvantage dangerous, away from family, move a lot, stress, extremely disciplined Education HS Diploma (GED), sometimes college JROTC, College ROTC Pay/Salary benefits add up, money is good and varies with duties and rank

SCHOOL Advantages Education! Better jobs. Social life is more fun. Disadvantage -With freedom comes responsibility- have to learn to balance school and social life. Time consuming, cost money- go in debt, academically challenging. Education -HS diploma, good grades, SAT/ACT Pay/Salary -While in school little income, After 15-20+ an hour

S UMMARY There are advantages and disadvantages to each of the different JAMS. The choices you make in high school can determine the outcome of the rest of your life.
