3.  Research can be primary research or secondary research.  Primary research is done by the individual themselves  Secondary research has been carried out by someone else

4.  Researchers often use secondary data in their own research studies. This is data that has been collected and analysed by another person  Data from earlier research, official statistics and documents are the main sources of data used in health and social care research projects

5.  The main weakness of secondary data is that its validity and reliability is not assured and researchers can not guarantee that documentary sources are not inherently biased.  The ability to read and understand statistical graphs and tables is an important skill all researchers should develop. This is essential for making an assessment of the quality of secondary statistical data.

7.  TASK: Find examples of a statistical tables, bar charts pie charts etc that relate to your research project  You must find these for Wales and the other country.  Cut and paste statistical data to your project (into relevant section as guided by contents last lesson)  Reference site  Explain what the graph/ table etc shows  Analyse their findings. Make comparisons, identify links etc. (This goes in comparison section)

8.  You must find out facts and figures on Wales using Secondary methods  You must find out facts and figures on the other country using secondary methods.  You must now compare the two countries pointing out similarities and differences and giving reasons for these  This section will contain roughly 700 words
