Here are some features. Feel free to take notes. Repressive world, all-controlling state or agent. Seen as Utopian by at least a segment of the society within the story. “Backstory” that defines how the society came in to being. Read Write Speak Listen

Here are some features. Feel free to take notes. Often futuristic or “sci-fi” elements.” Hero who recognizes the flaws in the society and comes into conflicts with the authorities. Representative of society who may be “beyond” the control of the state and can describe its principles. Story may be unresolved at the end of the story; the repressive society may continue even if the hero escapes its reach (i.e., don’t expect a happy ending). Read Write Speak Listen
