1 Team Counterfeit By Wes, Ryan, Tyler C

2 Dab of DNA keeps Counterfeiters at Bay  1.To pull off the feat, scientists first isolated a section of an athlete’s DNA, taken from a cheek swab. Then, they replicated the genetic material using a procedure known as polymerase chain reaction (PCR), adding the sections into the ink to label the products  2.No!! Because its clothing contains someone else genetic information and it wouldn’t matter if it was counterfeited.  3.No, the DNA cannot be copy like the ink can be without being undetected. If detected the item would be worthless.  4.No, if the DNA is to be kept away from sunlight and bleach.

3 DNA Fingerprints Photos  5.Yes suspect three is the only one of the seven suspects to closely match the bloodstain.   6. Half the child’s DNA is closely related father one then it is to father two.  7. Sample A are fraternal twins, Sample D is also same as Sample B are identical twins and Sample C is also identical twins.

4 DNA Makes History  8. No because the only way to positively find the correct identity is for DNA analysis.  9. Examined DNA from cells in the skeletal remains, looking for the Y chromosome.  10. 70% of bone cells had cytosine at this position and the remainder had thymine. Thought it was an error but the test results were repeated, scientist realized that it was a phenomenon call heteroplasmy.
