1.  Identify a colleague who can be your partner for any assigned partnering tasks.  Decide who will be partner #1 and partner #2

2.  Look(Make eye contact)  Lean(Turn toward your partner)  Low voice (Use your private vs. public voice)  Listen(Practice authentic listening)

3.  Partner #1: List all of the professional behaviors that the substitute teacher exhibits.  Partner #2: List all of the unprofessional behaviors that the substitute teacher exhibits.

4.  Starter for partner 1: One professional behavior that the substitute teacher exhibited was ________________.partner 1  Starter for partner 2: One unprofessional behavior that the substitute teacher exhibited was ________________.partner 2 Professionalism for the substitute

5.  Partner #1 shares first using the starter.  Partner #2 shares next.  Keep sharing until I say: "Bring your conversations to a close, please."  If you don't have a second idea, share your partner's idea.

6.  Example: One professional behavior that the substitute teacher exhibited was telling the students to call him “Mr. S.”  Example: One unprofessional behavior that the substitute teacher exhibited was eating his lunch in class. Sentence Starters
