Cuttlefish Bone Casting Cuttlefish bone is the internal shell of Sepia officinalis, a mollusk highly appreciated in the Mediterranean cuisine.

How does it work? A hard and thin crust covers the internal, thick, softer pulp. This soft pulp can be carved. The pulp is composed of closely packed thin layers of alternatively dense and spongy soft material.
